Ramón is 66 years old and lives with his wife on their farm in the Coto Brus district of Costa Rica. He has coffee crops that he sells to support his family, and has ambitions to continue growing both as a person as well as a micro - entrepreneur.
He has requested a loan through Kiva to make improvements to his current coffee farm and crops. With the loan he plans to install a silo, as well as purchase fertilisers and compost. Ramón believes that the investment will allow him to produce larger and higher quality coffee crops, which he hopes will provide greater financial stability and a better quality of life for his family.
We were able to contribute to Ramón's loan request through our Kiva contributions. Thanks to our amazing coffee drinkers like Julie from Highgate Hill for helping us to do so!
With every cup of Renegade Roasters coffee, you are able to support farmers and their families who can't live without coffee.
